I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.---1 Samuel 1:27

About Mya Michelle

Mya is such a loving child. When we ask for a kiss, she gives one to Daddy then one to Mommy. She will go back and forth several times. She will melt your heart. She says about 10 words in Spanish. We have only heard Agua, bebe, and mama. She now says Mommy. Yeah that's right. She loves her mommy. Actually, she thinks her daddy is hilarious. He does crazy stuff to keep her laughing.

Her foster family had her on a good schedule. When it is 11:00, it is time for nap. 8:00 is bedtime. She runs like clockwork. Can you believe she is almost potty trained? We bought a potty to continue the training while we are here. Piece of cake. The only thing is she doesn't like to eat. She won't drink the milk they told us she likes. She will only drink water. Which is okay for her age. There is NO baby food here. She can't chew food. She will hold it in her mouth for up to 10 minutes. We are trying not to force feed. We are using major distractions to get her to eat. This is the only thing that is frustrating. Hopefully we will have that ironed out soon.

She is now understanding more english. She understands come here, give to mommy, give to daddy, arms up, hold my hand, peek a boo, kiss, and I'm sure a few more things. She is so independent. She only wants us until she figures out she can do it on her own. Then she moves our hands away. So funny. She loves sticking out her tongue.

At night, she sucks her first two fingers and goes right to sleep. In the morning, she will just look up at us and then lay on our chest for her morning back tickle. She is like her mommy; she doesn't like to move quick in the morning. It takes her a while to get moving. Oh, did I mention she sleeps for 12 hours. Unbelivable.

God is good in so many ways. I couldn't imagine having any other child. We were suppose to get a baby boy, and we were suppose to have this child 3 years ago. Well, she was worth the wait. God does have a plan better than ours. Goodnight for now.

Avi was the same way with food. Everything they said she loved, she wouldn't touch. We found yogurt at the grocery store there and that was pretty much all she would eat. To this day, she will not eat a cracker.
